Welcome Aboard....

posted Jul 21, 2014, 3:27 PM by Bob Hemedinger

Imagine Diving is very happy to welcome its newest Board member, Cynthia Robison. If her name seems familiar, it should be. Cindy has been assisting divers with disabilities in the water for several years.

Also, we will soon be announcing our upcoming pool schedule and, cross your fingers, a special kick-off event for the upcoming school year.

We've refreshed our video. Some of the material is the same as before, but we've added a lot of material from recent Scuba Discovery events.

Brees Dream Foundation

Imagine Diving was recently honored with a $5000 donation from the Brees Dream Foundation and Companies with a Mission. This donation will make it possible for us to secure additional adaptive gear, expanding our ability to provide a safe, fun environment for persons with disabilities as they rise to the challenge and discover, "I can do this!"

The Brees Dream Foundation was founded by Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints and his wife in 2003 with a mission to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, and provide care, education and opportunities for children and families in need.

We offer our sincerest thanks to Brees Dream Foundation and Companies with a Mission, as well as to Kalyn and Jean Harris who took the time to submit a presentation about Imagine Diving for their consideration.

Website Relaunch!

posted Mar 23, 2014, 12:55 PM by Bob Hemedinger

Welcome to version 2.0 of the Imagine Diving website. The first website was, admittedly, a quick and dirty site to get us online and provide a means of communicating to you, our audience.

This new site is designed to make it easier on the eyes and to provide more information to persons with disabilities who are interested in SCUBA. As you can see, we have a page that describes SCUBA certification for persons with disabilities, information I strongly feel is difficult to come by. You can expect to see some follow up postings about SCUBA certifications beyond the general information given here in the near future. You can also expect to see some postings focused on specific individuals and the challenges they face, volunteers and other people who support the disabled diving community.
